Life Pacific College Bequest Language

There are several ways you can name Life Pacific College as a beneficiary in your will or trust. You may choose to give specific assets, a portion of your estate, or your residual estate after payment of other bequests.

You can state how you would like your gift to be used:

  • State for a specific purpose or program
  • Designate "wherever the need is greatest" so that LPC can choose to use your gift to fulfill our mission.
  • Direct gift to our annual fund
  • Direct gift to an endowment fund.

When including Life Pacific College in your will, consider the following language to ensure your gift is appropriately designated.

Specific Dollar Amount or Estate Percentage

"I give, devise and bequeath to Life Pacific College, 1100 West Covina Boulevard, San Dimas, CA, 91773, a nonprofit charitable corporation under the laws of the State of California, (Tax ID #95-1684068) the sum of $_____ or _____ percent of the value of my estate to be used for ....(note desired gift designation)."

Specific Property

"I give, devise and bequeath to Life Pacific College, 1100 West Covina Boulevard, San Dimas, CA, 91773, a nonprofit charitable corporation under the laws of the State of California, (Tax ID #95-1684068) the following property described as [insert legal description], to use the said property and the rents, income, or proceeds arising there-from or the proceeds of the sale thereof, for ... (note desired gift designation).

Residue of Your Estate

"All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give, devise and bequeath to Life Pacific College, 1100 West Covina Boulevard, San Dimas, CA, 91773, a nonprofit charitable corporation under the laws of the State of California, (Tax ID #95-1684068) to be used for ... (note desired gift designation)."

Specific Language Adjusting Bequest Amount for Inflation

The sum of ______ dollars ($), adjusted for inflation as hereinafter provided. The dollar amount of _____ dollars ($) shall be adjusted to reflect the increase or decrease in the cost of living which occurred from the date of will to the month immediately preceding my death. The month of January immediately following my death shall be used as the base month, and inflation adjustments shall be made each succeeding January. The cost of living shall be measured using the Consumer Price Index, for all items for all urban consumers, not seasonally adjusted, as published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor (or its successor index).

Specific Language Adjusting Bequest Amount for Naming Levels

The sum of _____ dollars ($), for an endowed chair. The dollar amount of ______ dollars ($) shall be adjusted to reflect the current value placed on an endowed chair at the time my estate is administered.

Specific Language for a Named Endowment Fund

"X% as a charitable bequest to Life Pacific College for the benefit of the College of _____ , which amount shall be held, administered and distributed pursuant to the terms of a certain Endowed Gift Agreement dated _____ , 20__, entered into by [me] and Life Pacific College, 1100 West Covina Boulevard, San Dimas, CA, 91773, a nonprofit charitable corporation under the laws of the State of California, (Tax ID #95-1684068)."
